A FEW TIPS TO GET YOU STARTED ON ORGANIZING YOUR HOME

1. Picture, in your mind, how great you'll feel once you have your space organized! Identify these feelings. For example..."I'll feel more relaxed...or calmer...in more control...open to having people over" etc. When you find yourself loosing energy while sorting through stuff, bring these positive thoughts to the front of your mind to encourage you to keep moving forward!

2. The basics of organizing ANY space is this... first, remove everything. Only put back what really belongs there. Everything else will fall into one of three categories. 1) donate, sell or give away 2) trash 3) belongs somewhere else in the house. You need to have 3 boxes/bags labeled with these categories to collect items in as you sort. Don't start organizing another space until the items in these boxes/bags are taken care of.

3. After you've organized an area, remember that it takes 2-3 weeks to make or break a habit. Practice "staying" organized by repeating the good habits you've started. Keep in mind...a place for everything and everything in it's place.
